A selfie of host Ellen DeGeneres with stars including Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper taken during Hollywood’s annual Academy Awards ceremony has become the most shared photo ever on Twitter.
Kevin Spacey, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and new Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o also crowded into the picture, which was snapped by Cooper after DeGeneres mingled with stars seated in the audience.
DeGeneres shared the selfie via her Twitter feed, it was subsequently shared, or retweeted, more than two million times in about two hours during the broadcast of the 86th annual Academy Awards :: Read the full article »»»»

MR JONES?
That most despicable right-wing ranter, radio broadcaster and pseudo intellectual Alan Jones – not the wonderfilled sculptor – has done a Romney on himself. Last weekend the Sydney shockjock was guest speaker at an event for the Sydney University Liberal Club – SULC – where he firmly planted his foot in his mouth.
Known for his far right views, misogynistic statements, megalomaniacal cravings and hubristic rantings, Mr Jones managed to slip-in the ultimate in-bad-taste, bagging the recently deceased father of Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard. During the speech Mr Jones said that the PMs father died of shame!?
Unfortunately for Mr Jones, the Daily Telegraph had a journo in the room while his speech besmirched the Australian Prime Minister. Jonathan Marshall has so far posted an article, a SULC Tweet and a recording, on what will surely be egg on opposition leader Tony Abbott’s face. According to the Daily Telegraph Mr Jones “…told a group of 100 Young Liberals that John Gillard’s death was the fault of his proud child“
UPDATE! 1 + 5 + 8 October 2012: Mr Jones has apologised to Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard for his woeful comments, he managed to do so without using the word SORRY! Woolworths Staffer Quits Over Jones’ Rant :: Read the full article »»»»

Two weeks ago we asked a stupid question – not our first – Ever have one of those days? the reference was to Matthew Newtons oddball arrest in Miami over his apparent drunk and disorderly behaviour. It seems Mr Newton is pulling a Charlie on us. Not happy with just one arrest, the Aussie actor has gone back in for a heap more trouble.
Newton has been arrested again in the United States after allegedly punching a hotel clerk because he could not get reception for his smartphone. Newton must feel like it’s Wombat Day – we don’t have groundhogs here sorry – he was charged with the battery of an employee at a Miami hotel, as well as resisting arrest. U.S. hotel staff must be asking themselves wtf is it with Aussies and phones?? In 2005 Russell Crowe went on a similar – but clearly not the same – rampage in a SoHo Hotel
:: UPDATE :: In what can only be described as a No-Sh_t Sherlock moment, Miami prosecutors will investigate whether Matthew Newton is suffering from some form of mental illness :: Read the full article »»»»

We’ve enjoyed dipping our toes into the muddy pond of celebrity gossip, following great news aggregaters like TMZ and Perez Hilton, publishing filthy laundry on the private lives of very public people. Problem is sometimes the truth is just that, the plain old truth.
September 2011, looking back, it’s plain as day that something was bugging celebrities on the internet, Christina Aguilera, Mila Kunis, Renee Olstead and of course – much to our shock-horror – Scarlett Johansson, all had nude, naked, sexting pix leaked.
We along with many others, stood around surmising that the Hollywood PR machine had simply wound itself tight around a stupid idea, naked pictures of celebrities would sell movies, seems we were way of base. In our case, we never published the Scarlett Pix, our heart just wasn’t into dishevelling such a wonderfilled actress, we did however buy into that most lurid of questions, might it all be a ruse? Girls Gone Wild’s Joe Francis Sends Madonna Cease and Desist
Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Madonna to keep her from singing her new song called “Girls Gone Wild” at the Super Bowl or else he’ll take legal action.
TMZ obtained the letter and reported that it also went to her “co-conspirators” NBC and the NFL. Francis’ lawyer is threatening to sue them for trying to get a “free ride on the valuable consumer goodwill and brand recognition” of Francis’ trademark.
Francis’ Nevada lawyer David Houston, states that he first became aware of Madonna’s new track based on the presales of her new album MDNA on iTunes and that “the number one song on the album is titled “Girls Gone Wild.'”
In the letter, Houston says “Mr. Francis and Girls Gone Wild have worked tirelessly for an excess of two decades to build his brand and to protect his trademark Girls Gone Wild,” and that “Girls Gone Wild’s trade identity and trademark are extremely valuable assets which my clients protect vigorously.” :: Read the full NSFW! article »»»»

Olsens latest film is the first feature film from young writer/director Sean Durkin, Martha Marcy May Marlene is certainly a stylistically assured debut, mysterious, moody, unbearably tense…
One of the benefits of a large family is that, of several children, your more likely to turn out at least one normal adult. A point in case are the Olsen sisters. Elizabeth Olsen is a commandingly lovely actress, wistful, with soulful eyes and a gracefilled figure, Elizabeth cuts a fine figure on the screen.
