Angelina Jolie’s Brave Breast Confession

Boyfans, hold back those tears! One of our most favourite celebrities – Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie – has revealed she’s undergone a double mastectomy to reduce her apparently high risk of breast cancer.

Because of a ‘faulty’ gene, doctors had informed Ms Jolie she had an 87 per cent risk of breast cancer and a 50 per cent risk of ovarian cancer. Since having the operation, Ms Jolie, 37, says she has reduced her risk of developing breast cancer to less than 5 per cent.

In a New York Times opinion piece, the superstar, partner to Brad Pitt and mother of six, says she quietly finished three months of medical procedures on April 27. CHINA! Authorities Arrest Hundreds Over RAT MEAT Scam

Chinese authorities have broken a major crime racket that passed off more than $AU1 million in rat as mutton. Police have arrested 900 suspects since January for selling and producing fake or tainted meat products, the Ministry of Public Security said in a statement.

During the crackdown, police discovered one suspect, surnamed Wei, had used additives to spice up and sell rat, fox and mink meat at markets in Shanghai and Jiangsu province. Despite persistent efforts by police, “food safety crimes are still prominent, and new situations are emerging with new characteristics”.

Woman Convicted of Trafficking Her Daughter

A Thai woman has received a lengthy jail sentence by a Queensland court after becoming the first person in Australia convicted of trafficking a child for prostitution.

Supreme Court Judge Mr David Boddice described the woman’s behaviour as “shocking and reprehensible,” before sentencing the woman to 9 years jail, with a none parole period of 4 years.

The prosecution had sought a sentence of between 14-16 years, the maximum penalty is 25 years.

The 41-year-old mother of three, who cannot be named - to protect her daughters identity – pleaded guilty to trafficking a child for prostitution in the Supreme Court in Brisbane today, she also pleaded guilty to 14 counts of indecent treatment of a child :: Read the full article »»»»

A Swedish woman has won a gender discrimination case against her former employer because she was forced to wear a badge stating her bra size. The young woman worked at the Change lingerie store in the north-eastern town of Sundsvall. Despite her objections, she had to wear a sign stating her name, chest measurement and cup size while working there.

Change told the Swedish Labour Court the purpose of the badges was to help customers understand bra sizes. But the court ruled the requirement was discriminatory and the woman’s dignity had been “violated”. It ordered Change to pay 50,000 kronor – $AU7,400 – in damages, as well as the plaintiff’s legal fees, thats more than $AU3200 a boob :: More Boobs »»»» 

NSW Police Officer Charged with Child Pornography Offences

AUSTRALIA! A police officer based near Nowra on the south coast of New South Wales has been charged with the possession of child pornography and indecent assault. The officer, who is based in a specialist command squad, was arrested yesterday and charged with assault, concealing an indictable offence, and use of the internet to download pornographic material about children.

The 30-year-old officer has been bailed and will appear in the Downing Centre court in Sydney on next month to face the charges. Police say officers from the Professional Standards Command began an investigation in 2012 after a tip-off, the NSW Police Force says the “officers duty status is being reviewed.”

It’s alleged the officer downloaded child pornography from the internet, they say the unrelated indecent assault charge relates to an alleged incident involving an adult. The officer was granted conditional bail.
