DPRK Calls Hollywood Movie an 'Act of War'

Our most fovourite dictatorship, the DPRK has released a statement warning the US of serious retaliation if an upcoming comedy casting irony at the North Korean leader is not banned immediately.

North Korea has denounced a ‘The Interview’ a forthcoming American comedy film featuring a plot to assassinate its leader Kim Jong Un as an act of terrorism, the communist nation has threatened to unleash a “merciless counter-measure” if Washington fails to ban the movie.

North Korea's Leader Kim Jong-unThe DPRK – North Korea – has agreed to South Korea’s proposal for a resumption of reunions for families who’ve been separated since the 1950-53 Korean war, is the DPRK getting soft under it’s new, youthfilled ruler?

The usually stoic North has agreed to hold the event during the traditional Chuseok – 추석 harvest – holiday that falls in mid September, as suggested by the South.

Pyongyang’s Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea made the announcement this morning in a statement by state media. The communist bastion also proposed another round of indirect family reunions via video conference in early – October 4 is the anniversary of the 2007 inter-Korean summit – the Committee said in a statement via the North’s official Korean Central News Agency :: Read the full article »»»»

Yosemite National Park Closed, Squirrels Found with PlagueA popular camping ground in California’s Yosemite National Park will be shut down temporarily after a pair of dead squirrels were found to be infected with the plague, officials say.

The closure of Tuolumne Meadows Campground comes a week after a child who camped elsewhere in Yosemite, one of America’s top tourist destinations, was hospitalised with the disease.

The case marked the first time a human was known to be infected with the centuries-old scourge, which is carried by rodents and the fleas that live on them, in California since 2006.

China NewsA former chemistry professor has been arrested by Chinese police on suspicion of selling a drug recipe to a gang which cooked up synthetic narcotics, state media reports.

The 50-year-old former academic surnamed Lu had “a set of recipes for producing methcathinone”, a drug similar to methamphetamine, which he provided to dealers.

Amphetamine labs are growing at an alarming rate, a Chinese police raid on the house of two methcathinone dealers in 2011 uncovered a pile of 80 million yuan, $AU13 million, in cash.

In Australia Amphetamine arrests have nearly double in past five years, according to Crime Commission’s Illicit Drug Data Report. Trade workers and those in the hospitality industry are among the biggest users of the drug according to an analysis of national drug data.

Kim Jong-un Executes 15 Top North Korean Officials
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un ordered the execution of 15 senior officials this year as punishment for challenging his authority, South Korea’s spy agency has told a closed-door parliament meeting.

A vice minister for forestry was one of the officials executed for complaining about a state policy, a member of parliament’s intelligence committee, Shin Kyung-min, quoted an unnamed National Intelligence Service official as saying.

“Excuses or reasoning doesn’t work for Kim Jong-un, and his style of rule is to push through everything, and if there’s any objection, he takes that as a challenge to authority and comes back with execution as a showcase,” Mr Shin said.
